Hear hear… some interesting calls for fashionistas, climate warriors and water savers
- Applications to the European Social Innovation Competition 2020 are officially open. Under the theme Reimagine Fashion: Changing behaviours for sustainable fashion, this year’s competition is looking for early stage projects and ideas that will change the ways we produce, buy, use and recycle fashion, moving towards increased global sustainability and changing consumer behaviour at local, national and European levels. The 2020 European Social Innovation Competition is looking to support innovative ideas and projects that aim to reduce the overall environmental footprint and improve the societal impact of fashion, help make it more accessible and fair, and contribute to change behaviours in a sustainable way. Solutions should clearly aim at delivering impact, pursue sustainability, and be scalable or replicable post-competition – at the local, national or European levels.

- Fonds Ernest du Bois is a fund beating water poverty. Explanation in Dutch, since this call is for initiatives from Flanders and Brussels. In België neemt een nieuwe vorm van sociale uitsluiting toe: naast het probleem van energie-armoede ontstaat er ook geen of onvoldoende toegang tot water van goede kwaliteit. Volgens een recent rapport van de Koning Boudewijnstichting bevindt 15% van de Belgische gezinnen zich in een situatie van waterarmoede, waardoor ze moeite hebben om hun waterfactuur te betalen.
